Hallstrom Heart & Home

Hi, I'm Jess!

A few years ago I was in my quiet time with the Lord when this dream for a blog began to bloom in my heart. He began to download His words into my mind and heart, and then sent me to share them with you.  My prayer is that you leave here feeling more refreshed and inspired than when you came.

I pray that God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray the eyes of your understanding are enlightened, and that you are filled with hope, peace, joy and favor.

About me...

Jesus is my best friend, and He wants to be yours too!

The day after my best friend passed away I was leaving work and on my way out of the building I just said to the Lord, "who will be my best friend now?"  And He answered me, "Will you allow Me to be your best friend?"  When I said yes, I felt the presence of Jesus show up, and walk with me to my car.  He was there, beside me.

My life and story are what happens when you fill your holes and weaknesses with Jesus.  He makes you whole, gives you unexplainable peace and joy, and removes every chain and bondage on your life.  Join me in allowing Jesus to become your everything as He has become mine!

After surrendering my life to Christ, I spent much time in prayer receiving the Lord's forgiveness for the things I had done wrong. That's the life of a believer. As we become sanctified, as we grow in Christ, we face the sins we have committed and receive forgiveness for them, and then let them go. We recognize the true gift and sacrifice of Jesus on the cross to completely absolve us of our mistakes! The Lord wants us to be set free from every sin and chain that would threaten our present and future. So, if there is a particular instance that is recurring over and over, perhaps this will encourage you to let it go once and for all!
small bathroom makeover, powder room bathroom decor, decorating small spaces
By Jessica Hallstrom 01 Nov, 2023
We moved into our new home almost a year ago and I finally got around to re-doing the small powder room on our main level. It took me awhile to get to it, but I'm so pleased with the end result.
waiting on the Lord, breakthroughs, miracles, praying
By Jessica Hallstrom 10 Oct, 2023
We spend a significant amount of our journey with the Lord waiting on Him. Waiting for miracles, waiting for Him to show up, waiting for Him to move mountains, waiting for our promises! So, it's obviously an important part of our faith journey. But why does waiting hurt so much? Why is it so hard? I think the Hebrew word for wait can teach us a lot about why waiting hurts so much!

The Purpose For This Blog

Is to encourage you, have your spirit ignited and Your passion burn

for the lord once more

When we started this blog in the summer of 2014, it was used to help me grow a gift in my own heart. Every day I felt God was doing something bigger in me and I wanted to share that with the world. As time went on this blog became a place to help others begin their own journey. I watched as my stories, thoughts, and encouragement unlocked the calling in others. God moved majorly in my life and opened doors for coaching, teaching, and encouraging so many people who are still using my resources today.

Since the beginning of 2022, we have been on a new adventure. God opened the door for us to do a monthly class filled with practical tools to help people experience the mercies of God. This blog is a tremendous blessing and I am so blessed to be doing this. I am excited to keep encouraging, coaching, and teaching others and I am so excited to continue cultivating a strong community every new day.

In January of 2020 I began to feel the stirring of the Lord to begin this blog.  It started me on a journey of hearing Him speak in a new way, listening to the sound of His voice and feeding from His Word to quench my hungry heart and to give you His words.  I have made it my life mission to sit at His feet daily as Mary did.

As you learn to hear the sound of His voice and to see His fingerprints in your life, may you enjoy and experience the beauty every day.

"But the Lord replied to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is to her advantage], which will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:41-42 AMP

“Our tendency in the midst of suffering is to turn on God. To get angry and bitter and shake our fist at the sky and say, "God, you don't know what it's like! You don't understand! You have no idea what I'm going through. You don't have a clue how much this hurts."

The cross is God's way of taking away all of our accusations, excuses, and arguments.

The cross is God taking on flesh and blood and saying, "Me too.”
